    DESCRIPTION

    This course is designed for students who are new to web development having some or zero knowledge of web technologies. This course will help students to learn web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, MySQL and some other useful web techniques. This course has no requirements and allows students to build their own web sites, while understanding the underlying mechanics of their website. If you, your child or someone else you know, desires a website as well as as having the full control over their website, then this is the course for you.

  • LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The student has a deep understanding web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, MySQL and how these web technologies interact with each other.

    The student is capable of developing multiple HTML pages that are linked with hyper referencings which contains paragraphs, headings, images, videos, divs, tables and other common HTML tags.

    The student is capable of styling multiple HTML pages with custom style sheets. Such styles include modifying paragraphs (colour, size and font), divs (width, height, z-index, opacity, floats, padding and margins) and website positioning.

    The student is able to create Javascript files that allows users to interact with the student’s website. Interacts include buttons, text fields, inputs and introduction to forms. Students will also gain an understanding of the logic of Javascript and how to use the debugging tools, such as the alert and log functions.

    The student is able to understand and transfer their original javascript to jQuery as well as take advantage of the jQuery library to create greater interaction.

    The student is able to improve the look and feel of their website with the Bootstrap framework.

    The student is able to create their own PHP server side website and demonstrating that their web data is persistence and secure.

    The student is able to create a mySQL database is able to create tables and new rows. Further the student is capable of updating, deleting and linking these rows. Finally students are able to link the mySQL database to their PHP website.
